Professorial and Inaugural Lecture Series

Glyndŵr University’s Inaugural Professorial Lecture Series aims to showcase and celebrate the academic excellence of the University's professorial staff, and bring leading research and thinking to the wider community.

All lectures are free to attend and open to all.

Oriel Sycharth

The University has its own art gallery, Oriel Sycharth.

Opened in February 2009, the gallery has showcased work from both national and international artists. It plays host to a number of exhibitions each year.

Public Lectures

Our public lectures are open to everyone and anyone and are FREE to attend!

The lectures offer an opportunity to hear from some of the most prominent and engaging public speakers in the UK, on topics of everyday interest - from TV and the media to science, sport, politics and education. In 2010 speakers included Johnny Ball, Professor Jeff Forshaw, Shaun Ellis and Dame Jocelyn Bell Burnell, while in 2011 we welcomed former Joy Division and New Order bassist Peter Hook, as well as BBC Human Planet producer Dale Templar to speak about the creative industries.

Other past speakers include Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson, Carol Thatcher and Philippa Forrester.

Who would you like to hear from at one of Glyndŵr University's Public Lectures? We are always open to suggestions for our lectures. If there is a topic you want to learn more about or a speaker that you would love to see, please contact us on 01978 293931 or email eventsupport@glyndwr.ac.uk.
