The next steps

Can I come and visit the campus before I commit to studying here?

Of course! In fact, we strongly recommend that you come and visit us before making a decision about further study. We’ll be able to talk to you individually about your circumstances so that we can offer the best advice for you personally. You can ask us questions about how much it’s going to cost, how many hours of study you’ll be expected to do, and any other subjects that occur to you. It’s important to us that you get all the facts before making up your mind, and we’ll do our best to help you come to the right decision.

We run open days, where you can find out more about the University and the courses we offer. You’ll have the chance to speak to lecturers and current students, who’ll try to answer any questions you have. We also run campus tours, which give you the chance to see the campus and find out about our facilities.

Our ‘taster days’ give you the chance to find out more about what higher education has to offer. You can taste student life for a day and ask questions to discover whether it’s really for you. This can be really helpful if you’re interested in taking the plunge but want a bit more information about what it will involve.

Just contact the Student Information Desk for further details about any of these events.

Where can I find out more about studying at Glyndŵr University?

Have a look at our undergraduate, postgraduate and professional course pages, or request a prospectus. These will give you information on course content and potential career opportunities that may be open to you after completing your course.

Alternatively, just contact the Student Information Desk and they can put you in touch with someone who can talk to you about the subjects you're interested in.

Can I speak to a Careers Adviser?

If you are unsure which course to choose and would like to discuss your options with a Careers Adviser, then please contact Glyndŵr University Careers Centre on 01978 293240 or email careerscentre@glyndwr.ac.uk. See further information about the Careers Centre.

Can you tell me more about Glyndŵr University and how to find you?

Glyndŵr University is a member of the University of Wales and is located right on the edge of Wrexham town centre in North East Wales. Industry in the area is thriving, and we’re close to both the seaside and the mountains of Snowdonia. The mix of urban and rural means you get the best of both worlds.

If you’re coming by car we’ve got plenty of free parking spaces; you can also leave your car here if you want to pop to the shops while you’re visiting us. There’s a retail park just over the road, and we’re only a 15-minute walk from the town centre.

If you’re coming by bus or train, we’ve got good connections with the rest of the country. The University is a 10-minute walk from Wrexham bus station and 5 minutes from Wrexham General railway station. We’re also not far from Liverpool and Manchester airports if you’re coming from further afield.

How do I apply?

See our web pages on how to apply, or just get in touch with us and we can send you the necessary forms to fill in.

“Going to university was a real turning point for me. If anyone even breathes the idea that they might do the same, I pounce on them with eager encouragement. ‘Just do it!’ shouldn’t be the advertisement for some overpriced sports brand; it should be the rallying cry to mature students everywhere. You never know what you can do till you try.”
