In terms of academic excellence, Glyndŵr University is recognised on a global level for both our teaching and our research.  In fact, the Research Assessment Exercise recently found that research at Glyndŵr University is of national, international and world-leading significance.  Accolades such as this are supported by our dramatic rise in student figures.  For example, our recruitment figures for the 2009/10 academic year were a 43% increase on the previous year.

This rapid increase does not diminish our reputation for excellence however.  As part of Glyndŵr University’s delivery of business programmes, we operate Wrexham Business School and have strong links with Georgetown University in Washington, USA.  All of our courses are designed with employability prospects and a healthy mix of traditional and innovative ideas.  Our MBA course, for example, includes student membership of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).

The MSc Marketing programme is similarly accredited.  At stage two, the degree content is designed to match the syllabus and standards of the largest professional marketing association in the world; the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).  By acquiring the MSc in Marketing, the CIM will allow graduates to claim professional membership status without having to sit and pass CIM's own Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing.

It is not just post-graduate courses that are on offer, however.  We also deliver a wide range of undergraduate level programmes all of which, along with those at graduate level examine modern key business principles, for example; the management of people, operations and information, accounting and finance, marketing, strategy and managing organisational change.

The academic teachers for business come from a wide range of backgrounds possessing both personal and professional experience in what it is to be an international student in the UK, and so have excellent support mechanisms in place for all students.  These same tutors have a wealth of knowledge from a broad spectrum of subject areas.

Frequently published, the high-standing that Glyndŵr University Business has, is emphasised by the sheer volume of consultancy work we are asked to undertake.  Being linked to industry in this way means we are also able to examine the problems facing modern businesses and guide our students accordingly.

Business graduates from Glyndŵr University have a strong stake in the future of business, coupled with excellent prospects for their academic career progression, should they so wish.
