Five hundred metres away, in the town centre itself, is our Regent Street site where our internationally renowned North Wales School of Art & Design is based.
Good facilities in a safe environment -
on campus
Glyndŵr University offers excellent facilities in a safe, accessible and stimulating environment.
The campus has over 70 lecture theatres, seminar rooms and conference suites together with excellent workshop and laboratory facilities and a very impressive, state-of-the-art information technology infrastructure. The University has also introduced the latest ‘Wireless Technology’; just bring a laptop and connect via Wi-Fi, or visit one of our impressive computer suites.
These facilities are complemented by the excellent library and learning resource hub, the Sports Centre and student village. The University also has an impressive modern sound broadcast studio and a dedicated animation centre.
The main site contains everything you will need as a student including the Students' Guild and the Sports Centre. The Student’s Guild houses the Guild bar and entertainment facilities dedicated for student use and run by student officers. If you like sports you will be encouraged to join in and have fun. The Plas Coch site boasts all-weather and grass football pitches, an international standard hockey pitch and a modern Sports Centre.
Also on site are a number of excellent places to eat, drink and relax, including the refectory together with numerous coffee and snack bar outlets. All this on a totally enclosed self-contained Plas Coch site, in a safe environment, built within the town of Wrexham.
There are additional sports facilities close to the campus and within the town of Wrexham, such as tennis and swimming.
Around the campus
On the west side of the Plas Coch site is a modern retail park, with multiscreen cinema, a number of supermarkets and other retail and leisure facilities.
To the north and next to the Plas Coch site is the North Wales Regional Tennis Centre combining both indoor and outdoor tennis courts. On the east side is Wrexham Football Club's famous Racecourse Ground. Within ten minutes walk there is also the ‘Total Fitness’ health club, with a swimming pool, sauna and gym.
The campus and the region surrounding the Wrexham border is an area officially designated as one of ‘Outstanding Natural Beauty’ so there are plenty of sightseeing and leisure opportunities. If your preference is for more city-based leisure activities, the campus is only 30 minutes from the beautiful historic city of Chester and one hour from the major cities of Liverpool and Manchester.
We have welcomed European and international students here for many years and will do everything we can to make your stay with us as enjoyable and successful as possible. Whatever course you choose, you can be sure that you, your family and future employers will value the experience you gain here in Wrexham.

“I chose to study here because of the friendly atmosphere.
Everyone knows each other, something nearly impossible
at larger universities.”
