Statement of Service

Introduction

This statement aims to outline the services offered by Glyndŵr Assessment Centre. We are committed to providing services that are impartial, confidential and transparent, and meet the needs of individuals. We will provide our materials in alternative formats on request.

Glyndŵr Assessment Centre operates under Glyndŵr University policy and procedures and is committed to the values of equal opportunity and the Code of Practice issued by the Equality & Human Rights Commission

How to contact us

In Person

We are situated on the 3rd Floor of the Edward Llwyd Building. Our reception is open during the following times:

Monday/Thursday 9.30am to 4.30pm, Friday 9.30am to 1pm

By Telephone

Outside opening hours, an answering machine service is available. Our telephone number is 01978 293594 and messages will normally be responded to within one working day.

By Email

E-mail enquiries will be responded to within 3 working days. Our email address is assessmentcentre@glyndwr.ac.uk.

By Post

We will endeavour to:

provide you with an appointment for an assessment of needs within 15 working days (subject to funding body authorisation and medical evidence/educational psychologist report being available and confirmed)produce your needs assessment report within 10 working days of your appointment and send you a copy for approval (you have the option to opt out of receiving this report)Send your needs assessment report to your funding body within one working day of receiving your signed acceptance of the reportHow you can help us to improve the service

We are constantly seeking to improve the quality and relevance of our services and facilities, and appreciate any feedback you give us. Feedback forms are available; we use evaluation and feedback to monitor our service, and act on suggestions for planning the future delivery of services.

Complaints Procedure

If for any reason you are not satisfied with the service or treatment that you have received, please contact the Assessment Centre in the first instance. We will investigate the issue and respond accordingly. If you are unhappy with this response you can then instigate the Glyndŵr University complaints procedure.

What we expect from you

In order to provide an effective service we ask that you:

  • let us know in good time if you are unable to attend an appointment that you have booked, we may be able to make that place available to another student
  • respond to any correspondence that we send to you relating to the Assessment as quickly as possible, this will help to reduce any delays in the assessment process
  • let us know if you do not think we have provided you with enough information or have any other suggestion about the service that we offer
  • complete evaluation forms that we distribute following your use of our services, so that we can best meet your future needs and those of our other customers
