Palliative care is concerned with the achievement of the best quality of life for patients and their families. Palliative care often includes the management of pain and the provision of psychological, social and spiritual support.

The course is grounded in leading palliative care practice and supported by academic and clinical staff with high levels of expertise. It develops practitioners towards mastering their practice and effectively supporting patients and their families in any setting. The course is offered as an interdisciplinary provision for health and social care professionals working in all areas of the health and social care sector.

A key part of the course is critical reflection on clinical practice and on issues pertinent to palliative care. This encourages practitioners to share their knowledge and skills at an advanced level. It will develop awareness of the interdisciplinary approach central to palliative care.
