Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (CFEL)

Centre for Entrepeneurial Learning

“Building the Creative Campus”

Glyndŵr University recognises that teaching and learning across the institution should not only be of the highest quality, but also an active agent in the development of creative and innovative graduates with the skills to succeed both during and after university.
To promote the growth of these skills the University created the Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (CFEL) to develop enterprise and entrepreneurship both within and beyond the University.
The Centre supports students and academics through practical events, workshops, lecturers, conferences and research through its two dedicated hubs:

The Zone

Based in the Students’ Guild, the Zone is the university's dedicated enterprise hub, open 10am – 4pm every day in term time. In the Zone students can not only find out about the wide range of events the team facilitate throughout the year and how they can get involved, but also stop by and use the facilities to work on projects or business ideas.

The TED Team

TED is an integrated programme to embed entrepreneurship/enterprise across all subject areas by working collaboratively with academics to improve teaching and research into subject based enterprise and entrepreneurship.
The centre welcomes any ideas or projects from staff or students across the university which will help us turn Glyndŵr University into the most creative campus in North Wales.

Business Engagement

The Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning was created to develop enterprise and entrepreneurship both within and beyond the university.  If you are a business or entrepreneur or looking to get involved with the University, the centre or our students please get in touch to see what we can offer you.

"I work in the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, where I am responsible for small business policy, and I recently spent a week shadowing Mary Bradley at the Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning in order to find out more about how the university promotes enterprise and engages with the local business community.

I saw a huge amount of activity going on - for example sitting in on an enterprise module where students had to develop plans to start a business in empty premises in the town centre, the support given to students looking to go freelance or start a business, saw the cutting-edge technology at the Technium OpTIC centre, the joint working with Yale College to develop the employability of students, and the informal guidance and know-how sharing to those wanting to work with the University on particular projects.

Together, this should help make Glyndŵr a university that maximises the potential of its students, and enables more individuals and businesses to become aware of what the University has to offer.
