The Development of the Children and Young People’s University Cymru in Wrexham
Since the launch of the Children and Young People’s University Cymru in Wrexham in 2002 it has gone from strength to strength. The position is changing constantly, with new schools and organisations signing up as activity centres and new students starting on their Children and Young People’s University Cymru path to reward and recognition every day.
As you can see from the table below, growth within the Children and Young People’s University Cymru has been tremendous.

Of particular note is the growth in the number of organisations that now offer Children and Young People’s University Cymru activities.
These include national organisations such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and Girlguiding, as well as local and voluntary organisations such as Ty Mawr and Alyn Waters Country Park, Bersham Heritage Centre, Bitesize Youth Theatre, Wrexham Play Association and Wrexham Library and Arts Centre.
A percentage of modules involves community contribution (services or performance), especially those activities run by organisations and clubs.
