Clive Buckley

Clive Buckley is Programme Leader for the MA Education and Graduate Diploma in Continuing Professional Development.

His first degree and doctorate are in chemistry; in addition he holds a Master’s degree in education.

Although born and raised in the Wrexham area, Clive worked for a number of years in the West Midlands where he led a small research team developing high-temperature lithium - sulphur batteries.

Returning to Wrexham in the late 1980’s, Clive taught inorganic and analytical chemistry at the former NEWI’s Deeside campus before relocating to the Plas Coch campus in the mid-1990’s.

He currently teaches science and ICT across a number of programmes.

Clive has a number of publications in the field of solid state chemistry and the use of e-learning to support students in their professional and personal development.

He has a keen interest in ICT and has been using the web to support students since 1995; in 2000, he developed a science e-learning course which is delivered to students in the USA.
